Ellis has his sire Junior’s confident outlook on
life and affectionate, friendly disposition. He has been successful in
the show ring as well as siring my ‘F’, 'J' and 'L' litters, and his
puppies all inherit his super temperament as well as his good looks.
He was 2nd in Post Graduate Dog at
Cruft’s 2008, qualified for Cruft's 2009 with a 1st at City of
Birmingham Ch. show 2008, and was then subsequently again placed 2nd in
Post Graduate Dog at Cruft's 2009. In 2010 he was placed 1st in
Post Graduate Dog at Cruft's - that precious red Cruft's rosette and
card at last!
Ellis has been in the Czech Republic with Hana
Petrusova since late September 2010, where he has been extensively shown and
also used at stud. He
was chosen by Hana for his overall correctness and breed type and for
his superbly calm and confident temperament.
On 9th October 2010 at his first show
in the Czech Republic just a fortnight after his arrival at his new
home, Ellis won the CAC and CACIB, having behaved
perfectly for Hana.
Ellis also won the CAC and CACIB on the 2nd day of
the Brno International Show in February 2011, having won RCAC and RCACIB
the day before, and he followed this up by winning the CAC and BOB at
the Czech Cesky Club show on 5th March 2011. His first
puppies sired in the Czech Republic, a litter of 5, were born to Nympha Kalifa Bohemica in December 2010.
Ellis is now a Czech Champion! He won another CAC and the title of National Winner
at the National show at Ostrava on 9/4/2011, which gives him his Czech
title, just over 6 months after his arrival in the Czech Republic.
Many thanks to Hana Petrusova for campaigning him so successfully!
Ellis is the first British bred Cesky Terrier to achieve his title in
the breed's native land.
He has now also accumulated the required points and
the grading of "Excellent" to give him his title of Czech Cesky Club
Champion.
As at 16/7/2011 Ellis had 7 x CACIB, 1 x RCACIB,
plus 11 x CAC and 2 x RCAC, as well as numerous BOB.
STOP PRESS -
as of 10th August 2011 Ellis now holds 13 Ch. titles! He
is now Czech champion, Czech Grand champion, Czech CT club champion,
Champion of Romania, Grand champion of Romania, Champion of Bulgaria,
Grand champion of Bulgaria, Balkan champion, Champion of Georgia,
Champion of Cyprus, Champion of Moldavia, Champion of Macedonia and
Champion of Montenegro, having won all these titles in under a year with
Hana.
At the International show in Ceske Budejovice on
8/10/2011 Ellis again won CAC, CACIB, BOB, and, on this occasion, 1st
place in the competition for Czech National Breeds, much to Hana's
delight. At the same show Ellis's son Hrom Kalifa Bohemica,
owned by Hana, won the Puppy Dog class, and was classified Very
Promising.
My congratulations and thanks to Hana for handling
Ellis to all these wins! He is now a much travelled young
man. He has also managed to find time to fulfil his
stud duties, having sired a litter of 7 (4 bitches and 3 dogs) out of
Hana's Xara Kalifa Bohemica. Another litter by Ellis, of 6
this time, has now been born to Hana's home bred bitch Redkvicka del
Monte de Haya. Keep up the good work, Ellis!
Ellis is now an International Champion!
He won his final CACIB necessary to
give him this title over the weekend of 19-20th November 2011 at Nitra
in Slovakia, the first British bred Cesky Terrier to gain this title.

.... standing
proudly beside the enormous cup he won
as
'Black Sea Winner' after gaining all those titles in August!
...and the even bigger cup he won for 1st place in
the National Breeds competition at Ceske Budejovice on 8/10/11, which
dwarfed the cups he received for his other wins that day!
Ellis has now come back home, having done all that
was asked of him, and more, over in the Czech Republic. I am
still trying to find space for all the trophies and cups he has brought
back with him!
Very sadly Ellis died in his sleep in August 2015.
He leaves a huge gap here at Grancek where he is very much missed.
